No truth to foreign media reporting rumours

Monday, September 20, 2004

There is no truth to the rumours that the Cayman Islands Government is preventing the international media from traveling to and reporting from the Cayman Islands in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan.

According to the Government Information Service (GIS), recognised media organisations may make arrangements to travel to the Cayman Islands by filing with GIS the names of the individuals travelling, the description of equipment to be brought into the country and the proposed flight arrangements (private or commercial).

The Chief Government Information Officer may be contacted directly at 1-345-916-0738. Calls from media organisations only will be accepted.
