Questions from our readers
Wednesday, October 13, 2004
The following is a further sample of the hundreds of questions we are continuing to receive from our readers. We regret that we are unable to reply to each individually because Cayman Net News itself is operating under reduced conditions and we just do not have the resources to deal with such a high volume of enquires. We are therefore passing on these questions to the appropriate government departments and/or private sector associations and we will publish any general or specific responses from them.
Readers should however bear in mind that both public and private sectors are extremely stretched at the moment and, even assuming the information requested is available in the first place, a response may not be forthcoming quickly or at all. Indeed, Government Information Services (GIS) has already informed us that they “do not have the time” to answer our reader’s questions.
- Being a property owner on Grand Cayman, I have been
trying to find the status of Fidelity Insurance (Cayman) Limited and British
Caymanian Insurance. I have tried the telephone numbers listed on a press
release/bulletin from the insurance industry. The numbers for these two
companies have an answering machine that says "not in service or this number
has been disconnected". I have had no response to my e-mails. Any help would
be great. Thanks - Charles Crim, Tennessee, USA

October 4th for 10 days. We are staying at a resort on Seven Mile Beach. Our
