Fidelity Bank Forum brings in the news

Friday, October 22, 2004

Local information is being brought to the people of Cayman with the support of a local financial product and services company.

Fidelity a leading Bahamian and Cayman-based financial products and services group has partnered with Radio Cayman to produce the Fidelity Forum radio show, which airs weeknights at 7.30.

The show has proven to be a vital source of information providing listeners with the latest news and views from a variety of local leaders in the private and public sectors as well as updates of the recovery process.

Brett Hill, President and CEO of Fidelity said that providing a platform for community news and information was just one way that the company was helping Cayman rebuild. “In these difficult times, people need a regular information source,” he added, “and radio is the easiest way to provide this. We wanted to help keep all members of the community up to date on the island’s recovery, and I think we have achieved this through Fidelity Forum”.

Fidelity Forum’s first guest on 4 October was the Deputy Leader of Government Business, the Hon Gilbert McLean, who provided listeners with an official government update. Other shows have featured members of the Chamber of Commerce and The National Recovery Committee, as well as representatives from CUC.

The format of the show allows for public participation, and all members of the community are invited to submit information for broadcast.

Loxley Banks, News Director at Radio Cayman, believes the show is providing a valuable service to the people of the island, and has attracted a loyal audience.

“As soon as Fidelity approached us about creating this show, we knew we had a winner.

Since the show was launched, we have had nothing but positive feedback.”
