LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Please tell us the truth, and the whole truth

Dear Sir:

As a resident of Grand Cayman for four years, I grieve for the appalling damage done by Hurricane Ivan. I was shocked by the scant news on the media — while Grenada and Jamaica were headlined, with news stories and pictures, there was only a passing mention of Cayman. 

I was deeply concerned for friends on the island — still am — and I had to resort to other websites to attempt to gain information. What I found there shocked me deeply. 

Please, can you and the GIS tell us the truth, and the whole truth. The world is watching — and rumour is a force that can do as much damage as any storm.
