Thanks to the help of Cable & Wireless along with assistance from other local partners, the Cayman Islands National Recovery Fund (NRF) has found office accommodation and has the necessary communications tools to undertake its essential workload.
Cable & Wireless have helped with the office space as well as the telecommunications, and Bank of Butterfield, Cayman National Bank and Appleby Spurling Hunter have provided personnel and other resources to make this office setup a reality.
“Since the creation of the fund, we have been working out of the fire station at the airport,” says Executive Director Angela Martins. “Chief Fire Officer Kirkland Nixon and his staff have been very supportive and generous, providing us with computers and what office space they could. We are grateful for their support in the early stages of the fund.”
Thanks to the Cable & Wireless support, the NRF is now located at their permanent location in Trinity Square.
“Cable & Wireless takes its role in the community very seriously,” states Chief Operating Officer, Ian Tibbetts. “We are very happy to be able to serve Cayman by donating office accommodations and telecommunications services to the National Recovery Fund.”
The office will be open to the public from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Commenting on the community outreach to the Fund, Mrs. Martins says: “We have received so much support from a number of private sector partners.
They have provided online capabilities for our customers, staff for the office, and other things necessary to help the fund move ahead with its mission. The trustees are eager to continue this momentum and do our part in the recovery of Cayman.”
