LETTER TO THE EDITOR

I could never imagine the destruction

Friday, November 26, 2004

Dear Sir,

II live in Windsor Ontario, Canada. I work part-time in an electronic store called Best Buy and I had a customer who came up to me and told me she wanted to buy two notebooks and two headsets.

The reason why she needed them is because she had fled from Grand Cayman for her own safety due to the destruction of Hurricane Ivan.

She was devastated and could not even use her credit cards to make a purchase in the store. Her husband was still in the Cayman Islands because he had to stay close to his business.

When she told me the devastating experience she had endured it simply broke my heart. She was in a terrible state of mind and it was heartbreaking to hear her story.

I was aware what was going on with these series of hurricanes that were hitting the south but I could never imagine the destruction it caused nor did I imagine how many people it would affect.

I am a political science major here in my local university and that is why it concerns me so much. I hope you all get the aid you need for a full recovery. God bless!
