Tourist sector keeps moving up
Friday, December 10, 2004
This week the Department of Tourism was hard at work assessing the progress made within the sector. With tourists returning to the Island they offer a true barometer of how much progress the country is making in the recovery process. One group of tourists wrote to the DoT reflecting on their visit to Grand Cayman.
“We just came back from a cruise to your beautiful Island. We were there on 1 November and had a wonderful time,” they wrote. “We went on a tour of the Island and swimming with the Stingrays, the best part of our trip. We have shown pictures and a lot of our friends want to go. Thank you for letting us come to your Island.”
New properties added to the list this week of those re-licensed and ready to do business include: The Avalon, Plantana Condos; Cobalt Coast Resort and the Marriott Courtyard and more will be coming on line soon.
The Conch Shell House also came in for some attention, when the signs were repaired and resurrected.
The Sister Islands Tourist Association have also released their November 2004 Newsletter this week which contains updates on the Sister Islands including articles such as “The Sister Islands are even better after Hurricane Ivan – come see!” and “In & around the Islands”.
