Cayman Prep and High School’s infant department performed miracles on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 December, giving a tear-jerking rendition of ‘The Magical Nativity’.

The performance was put together in the few short weeks since the school became up and running with children from Kindergarten, year one and year two all working in sync for the two shows – Tuesday’s matinee and Wednesday’s evening performances.

While class teachers worked with their pupils to rehearse the show, the enthusiasm and energy put into the production by its co-ordinator, Music Teacher Catherine Boyd-Moss, was evident, as she guided the young children through their lines, both spoken and sung.

Cameras flashed and video recorders busily captured each parents’ little treasure on stage and all children seemed delighted to be altogether turning their rehearsals into the real thing for their mums and dads.

Acting talent was apparent from the short 40 minutes performance, especially in the form of Polly Serpell, who played Sarah, a little girl looking forward to Christmas and Zarek Deosaran who played her brother, Joe, but the enthusiasm from all the children won them top marks for effort.

The event was rounded off by a sterling rendition of the children’s favourite “Mary had a little baby’, which the children sang with gusto. Two performances to be treasured.
