- Duty concessions extended for another six months
I cannot believe the government is stopping the import duty concession on vehicles. I have been trying to get a car onto the island for 10 weeks and whilst I have the paperwork, the ships are full as well as Miami Port.
The government cannot claim to be losing money when they are obviously gaining more from a significant increase in imported items above the normal level. I am horrified by this decision.

- Duty concessions extended for another six months
If duty is to resume as of 1st January, 2005, is this the deadline for proof of purchase of a vehicle or the arrival of the vehicle on Grand Cayman? Due to the backlog in U.S. and Jamaica ports and the lack of availability of containers, maybe more clarity is required so we don’t get any nasty surprises when we go to pay our duty. -

- Caymanian Construction Workers In High Demand
I have experience in many construction trades, particularly plumbing/pipefitting and concrete work. I live in Canada, but am willing to relocate; perhaps someone can send me a link to someone who needs workers. Thank you. -

- PPM wants inquiry
First of all let me begin by saying that I have no affiliation with construction, heavy equipment, or PPM whatsoever. I was a die-hard UDP supporter until now.
I am ashamed of my existing government and cannot support any government that steals from their own people. The blatant act of the restoration contract being awarded to the UDP Mafia is a slap in the face to every single Caymanian.
I pray that there is an outside independent Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate this unbelievable act. Good luck to the PPM and Cayman people in the up coming elections because God knows we need it. -

- Earthquake
This is just a message to a new friend following the trauma you have suffered in the wake of Ivan. To Nurleen Rotchell who is at home with her family for Christmas. I hope all is well. I can’t believe you have now had this earthquake! A new friendship forged out of the unhappiness of Ivan! With love. -

- Earthquake
After Ivan what more can happen to this island. My sister arrived back on Cayman last week and now to hear about an earthquake. Tell me is all okay on the island. Have there been any aftershocks? Do you think the island is safe? Thank you. -
