If you have ever tried to get a table at Ragazzi for dinner you may have struggled as it is one of the Island’s most popular restaurants and with good reason – the food is excellent.
But it is also a beautiful restaurant, which is something guests may not always notice when the restaurant is at full capacity on a Friday or Saturday night.
Doing business lunch at Ragazzi will offer you and your client a chance to look at the restaurant in the day and if you can linger past the lunch time rush you will get the opportunity to soak in just how aesthetically pleasing and very well designed the restaurant is.
The art on the walls is extremely well chosen. The windows allow in beautiful light and the seating is arranged to add to the pleasure of the eye and more importantly to allow some comfort for a business meeting.
Looking at the surroundings is not the only reason to linger however; it is also to enjoy the delicious food that Ragazzi serves up and with great appetizers and entrees the excellent dessert menu that can’t be missed, means that when you’re doing business lunch there, you need plenty of time to do it.
The regular menu offers a great choice of modern Italian cuisines and as you’d expect a great choice of pastas and pizza’s, but there is also a great seafood and meat choice too.
Regular appetizer choices such as the seared tuna and spinach struddle are terrific but Ragazzi lunchtime specials, which change regularly, are worth paying close attention to.
If you are lucky enough to go on a day when mussels are being served as the special, particularly when they come with the tomato and chardonnay broth, then you will be a fool to pass them up.
After choosing from pasta, pizza or one of the many modern and exciting choices the meal has to finish with Tiramisu or for those with a serious sweet tooth and a serious appetite the Mango Crème Brule is an experience worth living for.
The wine list is also extremely exciting for lovers of Italian wines. If you are spending only $45 on a Chianti Classico or giving your bank manager indigestion with a $365 bottle of the Sassicaia 99, (an unbelievable year of course), the choice is excellent.
The service also matches the food, wine and atmosphere. The staff are extremely efficient as well as very amiable and helpful, which probably has much to do with working in such a great looking restaurant that serves terrific food. The patrons, Paolo Polloni and Andy Marcher are likely to continue to be very busy men as Ragazzi’s is not only one of the Island’s best diner spots it is also an excellent choice for business lunch, especially when that business can afford a little bit more time.
