A few months ago Andrew Moon did walk to the South Pole. Hosted by the National Gallery, Mr Moon recently presented, ‘Voyage to the South Pole’ which depicted his adventures in the Antarctic. The exhibition raised $1,607.

The funds were donated to three local causes: the Cayman Islands National Recovery Fund, the Cayman Islands Junior Sailing Programme and the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands. Representatives from the three organisations—Mrs. Angela Martins, Mr. John Bodden and Miss Natalie Coleman—were on hand to receive cheques for $535 from Mr. Moon and his wife Jane.

Mr Moon has already related details of his trip to the South Pole to a number of audiences on the Island, including two of the local Rotary clubs. Following the Easter break, he will also be visiting some local schools to talk about his adventurous trip and discuss the history and geography of Antarctica.
