Girl’s Brigade
All sections of the George Town Girl’s Brigade will resume meetings at the Elmslie Church on April 6th at 5:30p.m. New girls ages 4 to 18 are welcome to join us as we learn to “Seek, Serve and Follow Christ”.
Prospect Primary School PTA
The next association meeting is scheduled for Thursday 7 April 6:30 pm in the school hall. A social gathering and the drawing of the Easter raffle will follow. All are invited.
PDA Meeting
The People’s Democratic Alliance will be holding its Public Campaign Launch and Manifesto Presentation on Thursday 31 March at 8 pm at the Court House parking lot. The PDA candidates Linford Pierson, Berna Thompson Cummins, Herro ‘Steve’ Blair and Gary Rankin will be speaking at the meeting and outlining their position on key issues facing the Cayman Islands.
Miss Teen Contest 2005/06
The Leo Club of Grand Cayman with Cable & Wireless are now seeking young ladies aged between 14 and 17 to enter the Miss Teen Cayman Islands Pageant. Application packs are now available please email the committee on

National Gallery Internship
Caymanians interested in the visual arts who are graduating or recent high school graduates are being offered an internship. Any candidates with interests in art, art history, education, business, communications, event planning, fundraising, and marketing are encouraged to apply. It will be approximately nine months long from September to June, with an income of $12,000 with benefits. For an application form and more information please e-mail

National Gallery events
2 April -Public opening of ‘Watermarks’: The National Gallery present’s a new exhibition featuring the work of some of the Cayman Islands’ most distinguished water-colourists. 11- 4pm at the National Gallery, Harbour Place. 5 April - Art Trek – Learn about Medieval England and become a real knight or princess. Diabetes Association

George Town Park Grand Opening
As part of the “Growing Communities” project, the fourth of five public district parks will be officially opened with a family fun day on Saturday, 9 April. The festivities at the George Town’s Dart Family Park is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm. The family-friendly event will feature speakers, including H E the Governor, official ribbon cutting and entertainment.
Give Blood
If you are between the ages of 18 and 60 and are in general good health, you are invited to enroll as a blood donor. Please contact the Blood Bank at the Cayman Islands Hospital at 244-2674 or 244-2669.
Dental Clinic Temporary operating hours
Until Saturday, April 2 the Dental Clinic will be closed at 1:30 pm to facilitate necessary repairs and improvement work to provide greater convenience and comfort for patients. During this temporary closure the clinic will continue to operate an emergency dental service each day. The clinic will open each day at 7:30 am Patients needing emergency dental care should attend first thing in the morning. The Health Services Authority regrets any inconvenience caused during this temporary change in schedule.
Lion’s Club events
The next Lion’s Breakfast will be held at the Lion’s Community Center on 2nd April, followed by one on 23 April and 28 May. 9 – 16 April is White Cane Week and on Saturday 14 May the Lion’s Annual Swim Meet will be held on Cayman
Brac.
Education Advisory for Parents
All Government schools in Grand Cayman will close on Friday, 8 July at 1:00 pm for the summer holidays. Schools will continue to operate from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm for the summer term except for the Year 10 programme at the Agape Family Worship Centre which operates from 8:30 am – 2:45 pm; Alternative Education Centre from 8:00 am – 2:45 pm and Lighthouse School from 8:15 am – 2:45 pm. Government schools will close for the Easter holidays on Thursday, 24 March at 1:00 pm. Schools will reopen on Monday, 4 April.
CHS Dog Show
The 14th annual CHS dog show will be on Saturday 9 April 9 am – 1 pm at the Agricultural Pavilion. Everyone is welcome.
New Hours for Vehicle Licensing
The Vehicle Licensing offices on Walkers Road and Elgin Avenue are open to the public from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Vehicle Inspections will also open at 8:30 am, but close at 3:45 pm. Both offices will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Toastmasters Club
The Grand Cayman Toastmasters Club meets each Thursday at Woods Furniture & Design next to Foster’s Food Fair by the Airport at 6pm till 7pm. The Toastmasters Club is a public speaking club. All are invited. Please call George Ebanks at 916-0687 for any questions or further details.
Bodden Town Clinic
The Health Services Authority wishes to inform the public that the Bodden Town Clinic can now be reached by telephone on its original number 947-2299. The Clinic will continue to operate from the Seventh Day Adventist Church Youth Hall providing all the usual medical and nursing services to the neighbouring communities. Nursing services will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and a Doctor will be available at the clinic on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12noon.
Kiwanis Club
For members, friends, guests and anyone interested in learning more about Kiwanis, the club meets every Wednesday at 12-15 pm at the Reef Grill.
Licensees Urged to Contact Liquor Board
All valid liquor licence holders who have not reopened post-Ivan and/or do not intend to continue operations are asked to contact the Liquor Licensing Board of Grand Cayman. Licensees currently in operation are required to have licensed premises inspected by the Fire Service, Environmental Health, and Planning Departments following the hurricane. For further clarification or information, licensees may contact the board, at 525-7893.

No fishing in grouper areas
The Marine Conservation Board is reminding the public that designated grouper spawning areas are closed to fishing. The prohibition includes setting a fish trap in these areas or within a one-mile radius of a designated grouper spawning area. Al Anon Group Meeting
George Town, Grand Cayman Chapter meets every Tuesday at 8 pm at Elmslie Memorial Church in the classroom. If someone in your life is drinking and it is negatively affecting your life and relationship, you are welcome to join us.
Old Timey Missionary Baptist Church
Everyone is invited to the regular Sunday morning worship which is now taking place at an old/new Church, the Old Timey Missionary Baptist Church, Jamaica & Cayman Islands, on North Sound Road. The Animal Shelter has cats, kittens, dogs and puppies that need a loving home and welcomes everyone to come and have a look at the animals that need adopting.
