Old fashion Caymanian fun

Friday, April 1, 2005

After taking a six-month hiatus as a result of Hurricane Ivan, Cayman’s entrepreneurs will again be able to display their wares on Saturday. Market Cayman promises to be better than ever.

“We want to highlight Cayman’s entrepreneurial spirit,” said Beulah McField. “Whatever is made in the Cayman Islands - crochet, art, food, etc. - we want to showcase.”

There will also be a kids’ area featuring Cayman’s first automated merry-go-round and a swing set, face painting, and snow cones on sale.
“The Ministry of Community Services started Market Cayman last year because so many small companies were struggling to keep pace with more established businesses,” Ms McField explained.

Market Cayman opens at 7am at McField Square and continues to 5 pm.
