Patrick Cimolini,
President CIPMA

Monday, April 4, 2005

International speakers will discuss the key processes and knowledge areas at the Project Management on Tour seminar on Monday 11 April at Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa.

“The dangers of continuing project management services are, there are people out there who have no formal training in project management and use the word loosely. Basically they don’t know what they don’t know and they are selling snake oil,” said Patrick Cimolini, President of Cayman Islands Project Management Association.

“Consumers can now ask for evidence of formal certification or membership in a project management association or work with people, like professional engineers, who you can be assured they have courses in project management.

“There are going to be four or five speakers taking on various topics within the project management field. It will be of interest to practitioners and consumers of project management services.”

Project Management on Tour is about bringing the world experts of the sector to the door of practitioners and consumers, without the huge time away and cost of travelling. The conference in Grand Cayman is the first in a series around the world.

Topics to be covered will include: stakeholder engagement and management – the critical touch; project governance for strategic delivery capability; personal, organisational and global performance standards; risk optimisation – the key to excellence in project performance’ professional development and involvement in the profession – get the most out of the critical assets and disaster responses.

The Project Management on Tour seminar will be Monday, 11 April at Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa from 8:30 to 5:00 pm. Cost is US$399. Conference registration is available online at www.pmot.biz.
