Carlos Javier

Carlos Javier says he likes being an airport security guard because he has to deal with many different people.

Mr Javier, who is originally from Honduras, has worked at the Gerrard Smith Airport on Cayman Brac for about a year. He says, “I try to deal with everyone politely, even the difficult people.” 

The X-ray machine at the airport has not been working for a couple of weeks, so the security guards must go through each piece of luggage by hand. Mr Javier says he doesn’t mind the extra work. “I’m just doing my job,” he says.
