Cayman Islands Seafarers Association
There will be a General Meeting, on Tuesday April 19 at 7:30pm. Discussion will
be on Overseas Medical. In the “New Seafarers Hall” at 11 Victory Ave. Prospect,
across from Stingray Brewery.
West Bay Alliance
The Committee to elect the West Bay Alliance candidates, Dalkeith Bothwell,
Leonard Ebanks, Mario E. Ebanks, and Thomas Jefferson, invites the West Bay
community and the general public to a Meeting and Community Forum on Saturday 16
April, 7:30 pm at Orrett Square, at the end of Fountain Road, Boatswain Bay.
There will be a Question & Answer session, as well as the distribution of Job
Placement Application Forms to unemployed West Bayers. Refreshments will be

High School Spring Concert
John Gray High School and Wesleyan Christian Academy presents Spring Concert
featuring a concert band and choir, small ensembles as well as a Gospel choir.
This musical extravaganza is under the auspices of the National Children’s
Festival of the Arts and will be held on Thursday, 21 April starting at 7:00 pm
at the First Baptist Church. Tickets are available from participating schools
and the Education Department. Adults pay CI$10 and children CI$5. For more

National Trust Guided Walking Tour
April 16, 8:00 am. Guided by a local naturalist, take an easy stroll along
Jasmine Lane. The lane dissects the diverse woodland of native trees and plants
and is the perfect casual walk for those seeking an introduction to the natural

National Trust
Traditional Caymanian Cooking Class, April 13. A local celebrity chef and a
professional chef demonstrate the art of preparing Conch Chowder. Class begins
at 7:30pm. Recipe and sample of the finished product included. Refreshments also

Museum Day Family Fun Fair
The CITA office is selling tickets for the Cayman Brac International Museum Day
Family Fun Fair to be held on Saturday 30 April 10 – 2 pm. The tickets are CI$5
each with prizes including airline tickets, cash, and many other great prizes.
All proceeds are in aid of the Cayman Brac Museum. If you are interested in

Parrot Monitors wanted
The National Trust is seeking volunteers from all districts as Parrot Monitors
to observe movements of parrots in their local areas. A Parrot Behaviour form

National Gallery Internship
Caymanians interested in the visual arts who are graduating, or recent high
school graduates, are being offered an internship. Any candidates with interests
in art, art history, education, business, communications, event planning,
fundraising, and marketing are encouraged to apply. It will be approximately
nine months long from September to June, with an income of $12,000 with

National Gallery events
20 April-Art Flix: Each month the National Gallery presents a public screening
of art films and documentaries relating to the history of art. Learn about the

Diabetes Association
The Cayman Islands Diabetes Association will hold regular meetings again on

NCVO’s “New To You” Bargain shop is appealing to the public for needed
donations, such as furniture, clothing, household items and children clothing,
etc. Donated items are sold at very low prices and all funds support NCVO’s

Lion’s Club events
The next Lion's Breakfast will be held at the Lion's Community Center on 23
April and 28 May. Between 9 – 16 April is White Cane Week and on Saturday 14 May
the Lion’s Annual Swim Meet will be held on Cayman Brac.
Education Advisory for Parents
All Government schools in Grand Cayman will close on Friday, 8 July at 1:00 pm
for the summer holidays. Schools will continue to operate from 8:00 am until
3:00 pm for the summer term except for the Year 10 programme at the Agape Family
Worship Centre which operates from 8:30 am – 2:45 pm; Alternative Education
Centre from 8:00 am – 2:45 pm and Lighthouse School from 8:15 am – 2:45 pm.
Government schools will close for the Easter holidays on Thursday, 24 March at
1:00 pm. Schools will reopen on Monday, 4 April.
New Hours for Vehicle Licensing
The Vehicle Licensing offices on Walkers Road and Elgin Avenue will be open to
the public from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Vehicle Inspections will
also open at 8:30 am, but close at 3:45 pm. Both offices will be closed on
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Toastmasters Club
The Grand Cayman Toastmasters Club meets each Thursday at Woods Furniture &
Design next to Foster’s Food Fair by the Airport at 6pm till 7pm. The
Toastmasters Club is a public speaking club. All are invited. Please call George
