A group of local High School students received money for their traveling expenses to a Global Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC from Minister of Education, Hon Roy Bodden.

Each of the students received CI$500 dollars. The presentations were made on Wednesday 13 April in the East Conference Room of the Glass House in George Town.

They will be traveling to the conference between the end of June and August.

Mother of one of the students, Dorothy Japal, said, “it is encouraging them to continue their education; it is a very nice gesture from the Education Department and it’s a big opportunity for all the students.”

The money was given on condition that each of the high school students signed a form that stated they would use the money for the agreed purpose, and that on their return they would give an account of their trip to the Ministry.
