Executives all over the Island are hanging up the suits as corporate companies large and small across Grand Cayman join with the National Recovery Fund in a massive “Dress Down Day”, in another effort to raise funds for the recovery effort.

Thirty-one companies signed up to participate and thousands of employees wore branded red and black T-shirts, emblazoned with the participating company’s logo and that of the National Recovery Fund.

“We have received tremendous support from various companies and are quite excited by the enthusiastic response of their employees. Many are seeing this as a good chance to do their part in supporting the work of the National Recovery Fund,” said Angela Martins, the Fund’s Executive Director.

Production of the T-shirts was made possible by sponsorship from Cable & Wireless. They were then offered for sale to various companies. All proceeds from this effort will go towards the National Recovery Fund’s housing assistance programme, which is focused on repairing as many houses as possible prior to the start of the next hurricane season.

Commenting on Cable & Wireless’ contribution to the Fund’s Dress Down Day, Tim Adam, Chief Executive Officer noted:

“Cable & Wireless is proud to be able to further assist Cayman’s recovery efforts by sponsoring T-shirts for Cayman’s National Dress Down Day. Our entire staff fully supports this project and we urge everyone to share in the rebuilding of our country.”

Last month the National Recovery Fund launched a “March for Giving Campaign” in which its trustees, headed by H.E the Governor Bruce Dinwiddy and Mrs Dinwiddy, scouts and volunteers appealed for funds from the community.
