CIFA play-off final pair

CIFA play-off finalists Western Union
Wednesday, May 4, 2005
Scholars International and Western Union FC are through to the final of the CIFA play-offs.
Scholars were in cruise control as they registered a 3-0 victory over Latinos, but the game between George Town and Western Union produced a much more even contest.
David Reid put Western Union went into a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute and George Town’s players were up against it when Kingsley Wellington added a second for Western.
A minute later George Town’s Michael Wilks saw an opening and pulled one goal back for his team.
The Western Union players, eager to keep in front, wasted no time and within 10 minutes Charles Rowe scored their third goal. George Town’s Garth Anderson fired back two minutes later as the tempo really heated up in what was turning out to be a thrilling contest.
With time running out and looking to seal the deal for certain, Kemar Donnegan – nicknamed ‘Elephant Man’ because of his platinum blond hairstyle - scored Western Union’s fourth and final goal only three minutes after coming on as a substitute.
In the CIFA FA Cup second round, North Side faces Roma at 1.30pm on Sunday 8 May at the Annex, followed by Tigers v Western Union at 3.30pm.
At the Ed Bush Field in West Bay, Scholars take on George Town at 1.30pm and at 3.30pm it’s Future v Academy.
