LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Vote of thanks to all
Friday, May 13, 2005
Dear Sir
11 May: I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the people of the Cayman Islands for their support, feedback, constructive comments and well wishes during the 2005 election campaign. I feel privileged to have had the chance to be part of making history in the Cayman Islands. My efforts to date have been rewarded by meeting some of the most genuine and wonderful people in Bodden Town. I am easily reminded of the Cayman hospitality of yester-year which I dare say is very much alive.
The people of the Cayman Islands have a lot to look forward to and with
proper representation the next four years can only be brighter. With less than
48 hours until Election Day I am taking this opportunity to reflect and
consider my possible role in the future of this country. Throughout my
campaign I have stood committed to setting a very high standard of
professionalism for myself. I am pleased to say that at no time did I waiver
from that assurance. I also feel enthusiastic about bringing a new breed of
political activism if elected on May 11th. I stand committed to working with
people and keeping in touch with my voters throughout the four years.
My genuine love and affection for the Caymanian people has only grown over
the last few months. I have met many persons that have re-affirmed my desire
to be a servant of the people. I know that with less than 3,000 voters in the
district of Bodden Town we need to return to a system where voters have a
participatory role in the affairs of the assembly. The choice to listen to the
people of these islands is important to anyone hoping to affect any real
change. I stand committed to this very basic promise and wish that God may
continue to bless the people of the Cayman Islands.
