National Gallery’s Summer 2005 ‘Artists Away’
Interested practising Caymanian artists are invited to expand their visual
arts skills in a foreign country over an intensive time period by first
submitting a proposal to the National Gallery, through the ‘Artists Away’

Grand Court Session
Jurors for the current session of the Grand Court are required to attend on
Monday 23 May at 10 am.
School of the Holy Spirit
Cayman Outreach Association is inviting interested persons to attend the third
of the monthly sessions of the School of the Holy Spirit” with Dr Phillip

Electrical Licensing Exams in May
The Electrical Board of Examiners advises that the next Electrical Licensing
Exam is scheduled for May 26 from 1pm to 5pm at the Planning Department,
Leeward 1 Regatta Park (formerly Safe Haven). Residents of Cayman Brac can
choose to sit the exam on May 27, from 1pm to 5pm at the District
Administration Building. For further information on fees etc., please contact

John Gray Memorial Church
Presents “A Family Encounter” with Dr Barry Davidson of the Family Life

Loans & Grants for Farmers
The Department of Agriculture is inviting all farmers who suffered losses or
damage to their infrastructure etc to apply for financial help under the
Agriculture Sector Assistance Programme. Completed applications should be
returned to the Lower Valley Agricultural Complex’s office. Deadline is Friday

Lion’s Club events
The next Lion's Breakfast will be held at the Lion's Community Center on
Saturday 28 May.
The Cayman Islands Airports Authority
The second floor of the Owen Roberts International Airport, including the
Waving Gallery, is closed to the public until further notice. This closure is
for safety reasons due to the ongoing construction and repairs in this area.
The CIAA apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the
public’s understanding and cooperation.
Donations requested
NCVO’s “New To You” Bargain Shop is appealing to the public for needed
donations, such as furniture, clothing, household items and children’s
clothing, etc. Donated items are sold at very low prices and all funds support
NCVO’s community projects. Donations can be delivered to: 43 Walkers Road

George Town Landfill
The Department of Environment would like to inform the public that the
landfill is back to normal operational hours, i.e., Monday to Saturday 7 am to

Animal Shelter
The Cayman Islands Humane Society regrets to announce the temporary closure of
the Animal Shelter on North Sound Road, due to a further outbreak of a canine
disease. They will re-open after a period of quarantine. The General Office,
Cat Room, Book Shop and Thrift Shop will all be open at the usual times. Call

End of Conch/Whelk Season
The Department of Environment is advising the public that the conch and whelk
season is officially closed until 31 October. For more information contact the

Miss Teen Contest 2005/06
The Leo Club of Grand Cayman with Cable & Wireless, is now seeking young
ladies aged between 14 and 17 to enter the Miss Teen Cayman Islands Pageant.

Art Exhibition
Local artist Avril Ward has an ongoing exhibition of original paintings at

Business and Professional Women’s Club
BPW & YBPW are extending invitations to their monthly meeting, which takes

Diabetes Association
The Cayman Islands Diabetes Association will hold regular meetings on

Licensees Urged to Contact Liquor Board
All valid liquor licence holders who have not reopened post-Ivan and/or do not
intend to continue operations are asked to contact the Liquor Licensing Board
of Grand Cayman. Licensees currently in operation are required to have
licensed premises inspected by the Fire Service, Environmental Health, and
Planning Departments following the hurricane. For further clarification or

Parrot Monitors wanted
The National Trust is seeking volunteers from all districts as Parrot Monitors
to observe movements of parrots in their local areas. A Parrot Behaviour form
will be given to the volunteers to record observations. If you are interested

Pastor Peter Bass of High Praise Tabernacle, 81 Church Street West Bay, (Old

Education Advisory for Parents
All Government schools in Grand Cayman will close on Friday, 8 July at 1:00 pm
for the summer holidays. Schools will continue to operate from 8:00 am until
3:00 pm for the summer term except for the Year 10 programme at the Agape
Family Worship Centre which operates from 8:30 am – 2:45 pm; Alternative
Education Centre from 8:00 am – 2:45 pm and Lighthouse School from 8:15 am –
2:45 pm.
Toastmasters Club
The Grand Cayman Toastmasters Club meets each Thursday at Woods Furniture &
Design next to Foster’s Food Fair by the Airport at 6pm till 7pm. The

Cayman Islands Humane Society
The Animal Shelter has cats, kittens, dogs and puppies that need a loving home
and welcomes everyone to come and have a look at the animals that need
adopting.
No fishing in grouper areas
The Marine Conservation Board is reminding the public that designated grouper
spawning areas are closed to fishing. The prohibition includes setting a fish
trap in these areas or within a one-mile radius of a designated grouper
spawning area. For maps of the Marine Parks and designated grouper spawning
areas and a brochure of the Marine Conservation Laws, contact the Department

Al Anon Group Meeting
George Town, Grand Cayman Chapter meets every Tuesday at 8 pm at Elmslie
Memorial Church in the classroom. If someone in your life is drinking and it
is negatively affecting your life and relationship, you are welcome to join
us.
Old Timey Missionary Baptist Church
Everyone is invited to the regular Sunday morning worship which is now taking
place at an old/new Church, the Old Timey Missionary Baptist Church, Jamaica &
Cayman Islands, on North Sound Road. Sunday School starts at 10:30 am,
