Fabrics play an important role in a room especially when you are buying a
new sofa or loveseat. There are many options these days with colours, texture
and fabric content.
Fabric content is the type of fabric which can be a natural fibre such as
cotton or a man- made fabric like polyester. Many upholstery pieces are now a
combination of natural and man-made fibres with cotton and polyester just like
clothing. This allows the fabric to be more durable and resistant to wear and
tear but still have the feel and look of cotton.
Even fabrics such as Denim are being introduced in furniture lines as an
alternative look.
When you have kids, think about using man-made fabrics such as Micro-fiber.
Micro-fiber is a very versatile man-made polyester fabric which is durable,
easy to clean with a nice look of Faux-Suede. Micro-fiber is great for sofas,
loveseats and chairs in high traffic rooms such as the Family Room. Even if
the fabric is light coloured, a micro fiber fabric is much easier to keep
clean then a cotton fabric sofa.
