Taste of Cayman Golf Classic tees off at the Britannia Golf Course

Friday,  June  10, 2005

The organisers of the annual Taste of Cayman Golf Classic has announced that this year’s event, which caters for players of all levels, will tee off at the Britannia Golf Course, Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman, on Sunday, 3 July.

Organized by the Cayman Islands Tourism Association, the four-man scramble with a shot-gun start at two tee-off times promises a challenging yet entertaining day, and offers players the chance to win a multitude of prizes.

Players compete to win several high value prizes for multiple hole-in-ones and $10,000 and $20,000 cash, a gold coin for “closest to the pin” sponsored by Island Companies, longest and shortest drive, the straightest drive and many other disciplines at each hole of the course.

The most sought after spot prizes are two trips for four sponsored by Cayman Airways, including accommodation and golf at two internationally renowned golf resorts.

Numerous other spot prizes for teams and individuals will be drawn at the conclusion of the all day event. In addition to the spot prizes, there are prizes for the six top scoring teams, including trophies and a variety of gift certificates from CITA members and a consolation prize for the worst scoring team.

The event caters for all levels of golfers. Even if you are not a good golfer, the event still promises to be loads of fun, and you could even walk away with some of the great prizes on offer at this tournament.

Tee-off times are scheduled to be at 8:00 am and 1:30 pm and the event will be followed by a hot BBQ sponsored by Cayman Imports.

Entry fee is CI$125 per person and includes green and cart fees, chances to win the hole in one prizes, one mulligan, complimentary drinks, and the full BBQ.

Proceeds of the Golf Tournament will benefit the Lighthouse School and the CITA Scholarship Fund.

Those who are interested in registering for the Golf Tournament can call the Cayman Islands Tourism Association on 949 8522 or email najah@cita.ky
