Business leaders and senior police officers receive Queen’s Birthday Honours

Managing Partner of Appleby Spurling & Hunter, Huw Moses, heads the list of local people from both the commercial and public sectors named for this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Mr Moses has been awarded Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (Civil Division) (OBE), for services to the financial services industry and to the community.

In addition, Michael Thomas Adam, Chief Executive of the National Flag Carrier, Cayman Airways has received the Member of the British Empire (MBE) for services to aviation and the community.

The Queen’s Police Medal (QPM) for meritorious and distinguished service to the Royal Cayman Islands Police and other police services, goes to Chief Superintendent of Operations, Derek William Haines, while Assistant Commissioner of Police, Anthony Clifton Ennis receives the Colonial Police Medal (CPM) for meritorious, dedicated and outstanding service to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

Other honours awarded for Queen Elizabeth II’s 79th birthday included Peter John Paul Milburn and Minard Steve Foster in recognition for services to the community. 

John Edward Ebanks is awarded for public service and services to the community, while Laurel Leonne Ryan is honoured for services to education and the community.

The honours given to the individuals at the Queen’s birthday celebrations by H.E. the Governor Bruce Dinwiddy on Saturday 11 June were those awarded in last year’s Birthday honours, 2004 and the New Year honours for 2005.
