LETTER TO THE EDITOR
All we’re asking for is compensation
Tuesday, June 14, 2005
Dear Sir,
A “donation” to Mr. Foster - no! A contract with Mr. Foster for 99 years’ use - yes!
We are well aware that there was a major storm - and we genuinely feel for the people of Grand Cayman - and we followed through with donations to help relieve the suffering because in the few trips we had to GC, we truly enjoyed our time and the people there.
We looked forward to coming back year after year - that’s why we invested - not donated - money in “one of the leading families of Grand Cayman”.
We will see what the truth is behind Ronnie’s alleged “bailing them out of debt from his own pockets for 10 years” - by the way, why was he still selling shares only last year if he was truly losing money the whole time? And if this was a money-losing proposition that was on the edge of folding, didn’t he have an obligation to spell this out to prospective investors?
We don’t wish to give tourism on Grand Cayman a bad name. We are planning to return there in the spring, to enjoy the Island and, as the Governor and the Tourism Board have requested, to bring money into the Island’s economy.
All we’re asking for is compensation for our investment - not repayment of a donation.
Al Sorrell
