LETTER TO THE EDITOR
A tribute to David Foster OBE

Dear Sir,
It was with great sadness and a deep sense of personal loss that Carol and
I read of the death of Mr. David Foster OBE. We extend our sincere and
heartfelt condolences to his wife Chi-Chi and all the family.
I will always remember and appreciate the support which David gave in the
development of Vision 2008. His support was not only financial but he gave
unstintingly of that most valuable of commodities, his own time. He made a
major and substantive personal contribution to Vision 2008 and helped to make
it the People’s Plan.
Mr. Foster was a firm believer that business has a responsibility to give
something back to the community. In this he led by example and was a generous
supporter of a wide range of community organizations and activities. Much of
what he did was done outside the glare of publicity.
With the passing of Mr. Foster the people of the Cayman Islands have lost a
champion. He was a man of the people who put others before himself. He will be
sorely missed but his legacy will live on in our hearts and minds.
