Taste of Cayman $50,000 raffle winner

Despite the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) being forced to postpone Taste of Cayman indefinitely because of this year�s hurricane season, the Raffle draw went ahead.

The winner of the Draw for US$50,000 was announced on Cayman 27�s Daybreak on Wednesday 20 July, along with numerous other great prizes.

The holder of the winning ticket number (Number 1717) for the US$50,000 grand prize was Michelle Dilbert of Savannah Newlands. Ms Dilbert was greeted with the news of her luck as she arrived for work at Butterfield Bank.

�I forgot my cell phone at home this morning and thought that it was not a good way to start the day, but now I see that there is no such thing as a bad sign. I still won�t forget it again though.� she commented.

Ms Dilbert said that she was �Speechless with happiness� at the news, and that she planned to spend the money on her children�s education.
