competition.

So how many Cayman Islands swimming team
members does it take to phone home?
Three, apparently.

After all the excitement of the Games, it was time to
get some rest. Jodie Foster chose to get her rest as
soon as possible, even if that meant sleeping at the
airport.

With a haul of nine medals between the five of them, the Cayman Islands’ swimmers at the Island Games had a very successful time in Shetland.
With all the swimmers reaching the finals in their favoured events, the team seems to have maintained its strength, in spite of the interruptions that their training suffered due to Ivan.
As if the team did not have enough to celebrate, with all the medals they took, their coach, Dominic Ross, also celebrated his birthday while over in Shetland.
Ross was also fortunate enough to have his parents visit him at the Games. He was, however, not the only one to feel his age at the Island Games. Heather Roffey and Kaitlyn Elphinstone, the senior members of the team, felt the full weight of their respective 18 and 19 years.
In fact, they seemed positively ancient when compared to the 13 and 14 year old competitors out there.
The next event on the Cayman Islands swimming calendar is the FINA World Swimming Championships in Montreal, where Cayman will be represented by swimming superstar Shaune Fraser.
