Thursday,  July 28, 2005

The Institute of Legal Training’s Academic Award Ceremony took place on Saturday 23 July at the Wharf Restaurant, George Town.

The Keynote Speaker was Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education Angela Martins, and the Student Address was given by William Ebanks. Mr Ebanks said it was important to embrace the concept of lifelong learning.

“We have worked hard, and it has paid off,” he said. “Education is a lifelong process, and the only people who have stopped learning are dead people. As we go on, we feel grateful to those who have allowed us to progress,” he said.

Finally Mr Ebanks said that we needed to keep learning because we were living in a world of constant change. “The most constant thing in the world is change,” he said.
