Cayman Outreach Association Dinner
Cayman Outreach Association cordially invites interested persons to their Monthly Dinner, A Special Summer Celebration with guest speaker Chester Carty of Jamaica. This takes place on Saturday 20 August at 7.15 pm at the Family Life Centre on Academy Way, off Walkers Road. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from members. Volunteers wanted for Recycling Project
Volunteers are wanted for Cayman’s first ever meeting for a Recycling Group. This will be held at Rackam’s Pub at 2.00 pm on Saturday 20 August.

School of the Holy Spirit
The monthly meeting takes place on Monday 22 August from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Family Life Centre, with special guest speaker Chester Carty of Jamaica. All are invited. Call 916-2668 for further information.

Cayman Islands Red Cross
The Cayman Islands Red Cross will be conducting a three-evening induction course in the Brac from Tuesday 23 August to Thursday 25 August at the District Administration Conference Room. For more information on how to join the Red Cross – Brac Branch, call Kathy Kirkconnell on 925-2225 or 948-2266.

University College of the Cayman Islands
Registration for the Bachelor and Associate degree programmes will begin at UCCI on 22 August. All students in these programmes are asked to call on the 22nd to make an appointment with their advisors. Deadline for registration is 2 September. All other programmes are currently open for registration.

Public Service Pensions Board Cayman Brac Visit
Representatives from the Public Service Pensions Board will visit Cayman Brac on 1 and 2 September 2005 to distribute the new CINICO cards to pensioners and to answer questions regarding the Pension Plan. All interested persons are asked to make an appointment before 29 August by calling 945-8175.

HR in the Spotlight 2005

National Child Support Awareness Month

Pirates Week 2005 Landing Committee
The Pirates Week 2005 Landing Committee is organizing a variety of on-shore entertainment. 2005 National Evangelistic Crusade
The committee for the National Evangelistic Crusade of the Cayman Islands invites everyone to an Evangelistic Crusade being held from 14 to 28 August at the George Town Bus Park, with nightly services at 7:00 –10:00 pm. The theme is “That I May Know Him”. Call 917-6260 for further information.

Cayman Drama Society
The Cayman Drama Society will be presenting local singer Jacinthe Sabourin, JC, at an event on Friday and Saturday, 19 and 20 August at the Prospect Playhouse at 7:30 pm. National Trust Mangrove Boat Tour
A quite guided boat tour through the beautiful mangrove forests that make up the Central Mangrove Wetlands takes place Saturday 20 August at 3:00 pm. Refreshments provided. Public Transport Permits
The Department of Vehicle Licensing and Transport is informing all public transport owners and operators that renewal permits are now ready for pick-up at the office on Walkers Road. Hours 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The cost is $40. For more information call 945-8344.

The Pink Ladies Volunteer Corps
Would like to inform the public that their Pink Hibiscus Coffee Shop located at George Town Hospital has been relocated within the Hospital. It is open five and a half days a week and situated in the old X-Ray Department opposite the Mental Health Department just along from the Women’s Centre. The new telephone number is 329-3491 and telephone orders for take-away food are always welcome.

Those wishing to assist with funds for Baby Jo-Anna who was born prematurely and is in need of medical attention in Miami, are asked to contact the Jamaican Consular Office at 949-9526 or call 325-6634 for donation information.

CINICO
The Health Services Authority (HSA) is reminding all participants in the CINICO Health Insurance Plan, including Civil Servants, that they are required to present their CINICO benefits card when registering for service at any HSA facility. Cayman Islands Sea School with SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob SquarePants is spending his second summer in the Cayman Islands and all children between the ages of 5 and 11 years old are invited to join him for two hours of fun-filled maritime activities at the Sea School at the South Sound Dart Family Park, every week until 2 September 2005, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Cyber Camp @ Micro Matrix
Parents are asked to sign up their children, ages 9 and up - for Cyber Camp. Each child attends for two weeks. The agenda is full of useful learning tools that will make your child more computer literate. Limited space. Call 943-4601 to register.

Student Health Screening
The Public Health Department advises parents and guardians that all new students entering school in the Cayman Islands, as well as children from kindergarten entering Year One, are required to do a health screening. This must be submitted to the John Gray High School Health Centre by 29 August. For further information contact the School Health Coordinator, Nurse Teldra at 244-2648 or JGHS at 925-5401.

DoE and Marine Conservation Board Announcement
The Department of Environment and Marine Conservation Board wishes to remind the public that a fishing license is required for work permit holders who wish to fish from shore for consumption. Applications for annual or monthly fishing licences can be obtained from the DoE’s office on North Sound Road. Contact the Department at 949-8469 for further information.

Al-Anon Group Meeting
If someone in your life is drinking and it is negatively affecting your life and relationship, the Al-Anon Group is asking you to come and join them. Meetings take place on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm at the National Drug Council, Compass Building, beside Bank of Butterfield. Newcomers’ introduction is at 7:40 pm. For any questions call 947-0101.

Volunteers needed for Hurricane Centres
The Adventist Disaster Relief Agency (ADRA) is seeking volunteers to serve as Shelter Managers, in designated centres, for the 2005 hurricane season. Interested persons are asked to contact 324-3575 or 926-5500 to arrange a convenient time for training.

Law Reform Commission Office

US Consul
The US Consul agency located at Adventure Travel, Grand Harbour will only handle US Embassy matters between 1 pm and 5pm Monday to Friday. This includes questions, form drop-offs, form pickups, passport renewals and notaries, and also all drop-offs and pickups for the US Visa electronic forms. Call 945-8173.

Art Exhibition
