Why I love the people of Cayman

Dear Sir,

On Saturday 3 September, I had the privilege to help Z99 and Rooster 101, collect donations for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

They took time on a Saturday to come and work to raise money for the people that are in need of food, clothing, and medical care and they worked very hard.

But I also wanted to say that the people of the Cayman Islands, local people, opened up their hearts and their wallets to help those people that have lost everything they have.

Some apologized that they could not give more, but to me it meant so much.

Some of those same people are still trying to rebuild from Hurricane Ivan and still gave donations to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Even some of the young baggers that were working, gave some of their money that was earned that evening.

That is what makes me love the people of the Cayman Islands, and why I love living here.
