Caymanian of the Week
Before he became the Education Director at Boatswain’s Beach, Geddes Hislop helped tourists and locals become familiar with nature and conservation in leading bird watching, hikes through the Mastic trail and nature camps. “I am excited to be developing a whole programme from the ground up,” said Mr Hislop. “I will get to help make it a place for conservation and education for Grand Cayman.” Originally from Trinidad, Mr Hislop came to Cayman in 1989. In his free time, he teaches karate at the Purple Dragon School. He especially enjoys teaching kids karate because they learn fitness and discipline. “In martial arts you learn to move together and work as a team,” he said.
