Heavy Cake Company is introducing its first ever product to Cayman this month with the Cassava Cake.

The cake’s debut will be on Saturday, 17 September at Foster’s Food Fair at The Strand shopping plaza. Customers will receive free samples and taste for themselves what the cake is all about.

Later on shoppers at Hurley’s Marketplace and Kirk Supermarket will also receive samples of this special cake that stays fresh without refrigeration.

“We are very excited about this product; this is the first time Cayman has ever seen a delicious cassava cake that stays fresh for six weeks,” said Vanessa Gilman, the young Caymanian company owner.

Shoppers will discover that great taste and lasting freshness are just two of the product’s many benefits. Ms Gilman hopes to delight locals and tourists alike, with the product and attract people with the packaging which features a colourful painting of a quaint old-time Caymanian house.

It also offers information on the Cayman Islands as well as details about the cassava plant and heavy cake.

“Finally, a truly Caymanian product has received the attention it deserves, right down to the packaging,” remarked Ms. Gilman. “Normally it’s a problem to find genuine Caymanian products anywhere, but we intend to change that. Our cassava cake is just the start of things to come.”

Heavy Cake Company’s mission is to bring Cayman’s residents & visitors top quality Caymanian desserts, enticingly packaged and ready-to-eat.
