Sister Islands Post Offices
Cayman Islands Postal Service wishes to inform customers
that Post Offices on Cayman Brac and Little Cayman will be closed on Friday 23
September in order to facilitate an in-house training programme. Post Offices
in the Sister Islands will re-open as usual on Monday 26 September. Post
Offices on Grand Cayman will remain open as usual.
School Registration
Registration for John Gray High School is now closed. For
all other government schools, the cut-off date for late registration is Friday
30 September.
Eldemire House Heritage Festival
The Brac Heritage Festival organised by the Brac Chapter
of the National Trust will take place on Saturday 15 October at the Eldemire
House Grounds, Creek, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Old time crafts and games, tours
of the Eldemire House etc will take place. Call 948-0319 for further

CI Business & Professional Women’s Club
The Club will be holding an international campaign
entitled “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence”, which will take place
from 25 November to 10 December, 2005. Program details will be released closer

The Cayman Drama Society
The Cayman Drama Society will be hosting a Murder Mystery

National Trust Lecture Series
On Wednesday 28 September at 7:00 pm the National Trust

Course registration has now begun. Course includes

Cayman Islands Girls Brigade Council
The Cayman Islands Girls Brigade Council would like to

National Pensions Office and Health Insurance
relocation
The public is advised that the offices of the National
Pensions Office (NPO) and the Health Insurance Commission (HIC) will relocate
early in September. The new offices will be located on the second floor,
Anderson Square, at 64 Shedden Road. The phone and fax numbers as well as the
email addresses will remain the same.
National Gallery Needs Sculpting Apprentices
The National Gallery is seeking two apprentices to
understudy professional sand sculptors from the company Sanding Ovations in
the U.S. Applicants must be Caymanian and at least 16 years old. For more

National Museum’s Gift Shop
The National Museum’s Gift Shop will be open Tuesdays
through Fridays from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. The shop will be closed Mondays
and Saturdays until further notice. The Museum apologizes for any

Silent Witness March
The Business & Professional Women’s Club has organized a
Silent Witness March, which will take place on Tuesday 18 October. The March
commences at 12:00 noon from the lawns of the Government Administration

Law Reform Commission Office
The offices of the Law Reform Commission are located on
the third floor of Anderson Square in George Town and will be headed by Cheryl

US Consul
The US Consul agency located at Adventure Travel, Grand
Harbour will only handle US Embassy matters between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm Monday
to Friday. This includes questions, form drop-offs, form pickups, passport
renewals and notaries, and also all drop-offs and pickups for the US Visa

Art Exhibition
Local artist Avril Ward has an ongoing exhibition of
original paintings at Grand Old House, South Sound Road. Open for viewing 9:00

Alcoholics Anonymous meets daily to help those with

Hours for Vehicle Licensing
The Vehicle Licensing offices on Walkers Road and Elgin
Avenue are open to the public from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Vehicle Inspections facilities are also open at 8:30 am, but close at 3:45 pm.
Both offices will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. The
West Bay office is opened on Saturdays from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
No fishing in grouper areas
The Marine Conservation Board is reminding the public
that designated grouper spawning areas are closed to fishing. The prohibition
includes setting a fish trap in these areas or within a one-mile radius of a
designated grouper spawning area. For maps of the Marine Parks and designated
grouper spawning areas and a brochure of the Marine Conservation Laws, contact

Port Storage Times
The Cayman Islands Port Authority has advised that they
have returned to their normal business hours. The Cargo Distribution Warehouse
hours of operation are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, and on
Saturdays 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The warehouse will be closed on Sundays. For
further information contact the Port Authority’s office.
End of Conch/Whelk Season
The Department of Environment is advising the public that
the conch and whelk season is officially closed until 31 October. For more

Marine Park Rules.
The Cayman Islands Airports Authority
The second floor of the Owen Roberts International
Airport, including the Waving Gallery, is closed to the public until further
notice. This closure is for safety reasons due to the ongoing construction and
repairs in this area. The CIAA apologises for any inconvenience this may cause
and appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation.

Parrot Monitors wanted
The National Trust is seeking volunteers from all
districts as Parrot Monitors to observe movements of parrots in their local
areas. A Parrot Behaviour form will be given to the volunteers to record
