Nominations wanted for young leaders

After a year’s absence owing to the impact of Hurricane Ivan The Young Caymanian Leaders Foundation has announced that the YCLA ceremony will be held in spring 2006.

And the annual black tie gala evening is planned to be bigger and better than ever. 

As with previous years, the night will include a live televised broadcast on Cayman 27, a special keynote speaker and video presentations highlighting the five finalists. 

Additional elements for the 2006 YCLA are currently in the planning process and the spring event promises to be ‘a night to remember’.

The Foundation will be seeking nominations for the 2006 event and details of the yearly nomination process will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Foundation reports that already the community is asking where and how to nominate someone for the prestigious award. 

Previous recipients of the YCLA include: Olivaire Watler (2000), Dax Foster (2001), Sara Collins (2002), Steve Blair (2003) and Cindy Scotland (2004).

The YCLA are managed by the Young Caymanian Leaders Foundation, which has as its mission to spearhead and support community initiatives that target young people. The Honorary Board of Directors comprises Tim Adam, Bobby Bodden, Heather Bodden, Naul Bodden, Dax Foster, Shane Foster, Jackie Hansen, Rod Hansen, Roy McTaggart, A.L. Thompson Jr., Karin Thompson, James Tibbetts and Olivaire Watler.
