Miss Festival Queen 2005 (Pirates Week)

Sunrise Adult Learning Centre
The Sunrise Adult Learning Centre is asking anyone who may have some old chairs (dining style) to donate for their dining room, or any items of furniture or kitchenware, to contact Roberta Gordon at 927-0531 or 949-3330 or email Roberta.Gordon@gov.ky.  

Cayman Islands Netball Association
The Cayman Islands Netball Association would like to meet all teams and their managers on Thursday 6 October at 5:30 pm on the Netball Courts at Truman Bodden Sports Complex. All teams to register by 15 October will receive a netball. 

National Trust Cooking Class
The National Trust invites interested persons to a Traditional Caymanian Cooking Class on Wednesday 12 October. A local celebrity chef will demonstrate the art of preparing a traditional Caymanian dish. Recipe and sample of the finished product included. Art in the Workplace
Local businesses and corporations which are members of the National Gallery are encouraged to enhance the creative abilities of their staff by allowing them to participate in the ‘Art in the Workplace’ programme.

Art Volunteers Needed
Assistants are needed, especially on weekdays, to volunteer for the many programmes and events offered by the National Gallery and the Gallery’s new Educational Centre.  Residents with free time, and an interest in creative arts, are encouraged to become volunteers. In addition to shaping young minds, other benefits of volunteerism include use of the Gallery’s studio and locker space for art supplies. Frank Sound Church of God’s Services

Native Plant Propagation Talk & Demonstration
The National Trust invites interested persons to learn how to propagate Cayman’s native plants by seed or air-layering on Saturday 8 October from 10:00-11:30 am. An excellent presentation will provide information on the significance of growing native plants, and will be conducted by Manuel Dequito from the West Indian Club Nursery. West Bay Heritage Committee

Cayman National Choir
Reminds members and persons interested in joining the Choir that rehearsals are held each Monday evening at 7:30 pm at Cayman Prep Infant School on Smith Road. 

Lions Club of Tropical Gardens
Has a full month of activities planned which will include District Awareness Meetings, District Clinics, Dress Down/Dress Pink Day on Friday 14 October and Brenda Tibbetts Lund Run/Walk on Saturday 15 October. The International Ladies club’s Coffee Morning

Brenda Tibbetts Lund Memorial Run/Walk
The Lions Club of Tropical Gardens will stage its annual Brenda Tibbetts Lund Memorial Run/Walk on Saturday 15 October at the Public Beach on West Bay Road. Light of the World Revival Meeting
Light of the World Church presents a Holy Convocation from 9-14 October at 7:00 pm at the church at St Bodden’s Plaza upstairs Little Darlings, with Early Morning Revival starting at 5:00 am on 9 October. Eldemire House Heritage Festival

Silent Witness March
The Business & Professional Women’s Club has organized a Silent Witness March, which will take place on Tuesday 18 October. The March commences at 12:00 noon from the lawns of the Government Administration Building and concludes at the Legislative Assembly. The Electrical Licensing Examinations

CI Business & Professional Women’s Club
The Club will be holding an international campaign entitled “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence”, which will take place from 25 November to 10 December 2005. Breastfeeding Clinic at Health Services Authority

Micro Matrix Course

Cayman Islands Girls Brigade Council

National Pensions Office and Health Insurance relocation
The public is advised that the offices of the National Pensions Office (NPO) and the Health Insurance Commission (HIC) will relocate early in September.  The new offices will be located on the second floor, Anderson Square, at 64 Shedden Road.  The phone and fax numbers as well as the email addresses will remain the same. 

National Gallery Needs Sculpting Apprentices
The National Gallery is seeking two apprentices to understudy professional sand sculptors from the company Sanding Ovations in the U.S. Applicants must be Caymanian and at least 16 years old. For more information email director.ng@candw.ky  or call 945-8111.  

National Museum’s Gift Shop
The National Museum’s Gift Shop will be open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. The shop will be closed Mondays and Saturdays until further notice. The Museum apologizes for any inconvenience this will cause. For emergencies please call 949-8368/925-7628.
