  • The Brenda Tibbets Lund Memorial 5k Run/Walk will take place on 15 October. The event will start at Public Beach, with the walk starting at 6:00 am, and the run at 6:30 am. Early registration can be done at the Women’s Resource Centre, Elizabethan Square, from 12 to 14 October, with late registration available at the venue before the start. The registration fee is CI$15, with all proceeds going to the Lions of Tropical Gardens breast cancer projects.
     
  • The CIASA Two Mile Sea Swim takes place on Saturday 15 October. The race starts at the Courtyard Marriot. Registration will take place from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm, with the start at 3:00 pm. Swimmers will swim a loop from the Mariot to the Ritz and back. Entry fees for CIASA members are CI$5 for children and CI$10 for adults. Non-member pay CI$10 and CI$15 respectively.
     
  • The Cayman Islands Basketball Association will have a meeting for all teams entered in the Women’s League and the Men’s under-25 League on Saturday 15 October at 7:00 pm. The meeting will take place at the Eastern Avenue basketball court.
     
  • Registration for Basketball’s Under-25 and Women’s leagues closes on Saturday 15 October. Forms can be picked up at the Department of Youth and Sport between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays. Teams are allowed a maximum of two national players, and the registration fee is CI$300 per team. For more information, contact Coach Voot O’Garro on 916-5083.
     
  • The Butterfield Bank International Triathlon will take place on Sunday 27 November. There will be an Olympic standard as well as a sprint event for teams and individuals. Online entries are now open on www.active.com,  or go to www.caymantri.com.ky  for more information.
