
New lawyer from United Kingdom admitted for Walkers’ Corporate Department

An application for admission was recently made by Diarmad Murray, a Partner in the Litigation Department at Walkers to admit Caroline Chaloner as an attorney-at-law here in the Cayman Islands. Justice Alexander Henderson did the honours in the Grand Court welcoming Mrs Chaloner to professional practice in the Cayman Islands and wishing her well in her future career.
Mrs Chaloner was educated at the London School of Economics and Political Science and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2002.
She trained in the corporate, property, intellectual property and private capital departments of Eversheds in London. Upon qualification, Mrs Chaloner went on to practice in the Corporate Department at Eversheds where she advised on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance transactions and other general commercial and corporate matters.
In 2004, Mrs Chaloner was seconded to Henderson Global Investors for eight months where she worked on the launch and refinancing of international property funds.
She was later seconded to Eversheds’ Copenhagen office, to assist with a joint venture between Scandinavian and Russian international companies for the provision of financial services.
Mrs Chaloner joins Walkers’ Corporate and International Finance Department, where she will continue to work on all aspects of corporate work, including investment and private equity fund formation, as well as restructurings and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr Murray said that the partners were delighted to welcome Mrs Chaloner to the Firm.
