Pirates wet yet again

Pirates missed the party on Wednesday evening as
rain put a damper on things yet again.

Friday,  November 4, 2005

The postponed events from the opening events of Pirates Week, which was due to start on Friday 28 October, and had been re-scheduled for Wednesday 2 November, were postponed again as the wet weather continued to plague Grand Cayman.

Wednesday’s pirate capers were deferred again as the rain had damaged some of the special effects and preparations on Wednesday afternoon were badly interrupted by torrential rain yet again.

As a result the events are to be shoe-horned into the busy Schedule for Saturday 5 November, if fingers crossed, the weather takes a turn for the better and gives Cayman’s buccaneers a chance.

Saturday’s schedule is as follows:

2:30 Pre-landing celebrations; 3:30 Landing Pageant; 4:30 Float Parade; 5:30 Festival Queen; 6:30 Trial of Pirates; 7:00 Firework display; 7:30 Song Festival; 8:30 – Midnight Street Dance.
