NCVO’s Pre-Christmas Sale
NCVO “New To You” Bargain Shop will be having a two-day Pre-Christmas Sale at their thrift shop on Walker’s Road across from the Health Care Pharmacy. The sale will include a wide selection of Christmas gifts and also “Fill for $5 a Bag” for all clothing and will be held on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November. All items will be on sale. Health Insurance Forum
The Ministry of Health and the Health Insurance Commission invite the public to a meeting about Health Insurance in Cayman on Tuesday 29 November at the Mary Miller Memorial Hall in Red Bay from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. All are invited to ask the experts; give your opinion. Admission is free. Call 946-2084 for further information.

Gospel Festival Competition
If you are a songwriter or singer of Gospel music, the 2006 Gospel Festival Competition committee is inviting you to showcase your talent at the upcoming competition. National Trust Lecture Series
Lois Blumenthal gives a rare opportunity to see a colourful slide show of bats including rare and endemic species found only in Cayman, “Bats: Myth & Reality” on Wednesday 23 November at 7:00 pm. Join the National Trust at Breezes by the Bay and learn about some foods and drinks you may enjoy that depend on bats. Call for reservations as space is limited. Sunrise Centre’s Benefit Concert

Sand-sculpting Competition
The Department of tourism and the National Gallery present the 3rd Annual Cayman Islands Sand-sculpting Competition on Saturday 12 November at the Seven Mile Public Beach from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Ensure a space by pre-registering via email at assistant.ng@candw.ky  or call Tracy on 945-8111.

Stingray Tourism Awards
The reception for the Stingray Tourism Awards will be held at the Grand Cayman Marriott Hotel on Saturday 12 November. The black-tie affair will include cocktails, dinner, entertainment and of course the awards. Tickets are $100 each or a table of 10 for $900. Contact the CITA office for reservations.

ITLD Course
The Institute for Theological and Leadership Development, in association with the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, will be offering a course on “Reaching out to Victims of Drug Abuse and Victims of Domestic/ Sexual Abuse on Saturday 12 November beginning at 9:30 am at Cayman Prep & High School, Walkers Road Campus. Road Closure
Motorists are being advised that Harbour Drive in George Town will be closed this weekend due to the Remembrance Service parade. Motorists not attending the parade are advised to avoid central George Town or take alternative routes on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 between 7:30 am and 11:40 am. For further information call the Traffic Department on 946-6254.

Photography Club Meeting

Remembrance Day Tributes
Any church or other organization intending to lay a poppy wreath at the annual Remembrance Day Service is asked to contact the Chief Secretary’s Office on 244-2448. The Service will take place on Sunday 13 November and the deadline to submit the required information is Thursday 10 November. Details should include the name of the representative of the church or organization who will be laying the wreath.

Christmas at the Cayman Islands Humane Society
The Cayman Islands Humane Society have now launched their 2006 Calendar, featuring local families and their pets, and also new Christmas cards in 2 designs. Please stop by and support the work of the society.

CIAA’s Admin Office Relocation
The Cayman Islands Airports Authority’s Administrative Office will be relocating to the 2nd floor of the Owen Roberts International Airport Building on 15 November 2005. n order to facilitate this move the office at Beacon House on Owen Roberts Drive will be closed to the public on 11 November and will reopen for business 15 November at 8:30 am.
