New website showcases Best of Cayman
Monday, November 21, 2005
This week a new website,
www.bestofcayman.com launches to the public.
Designed to meet a growing need for online information about the Cayman Islands,
BestofCayman.com will provide local businesses a fresh outlet to reach customers
in the initial moments they are planning their trip to Cayman.
As Internet access becomes more prevalent across the globe, many people are
traveling with their laptops. To this new generation of Internet travelers,
BestofCayman.com provides a much-needed online destination for everything to do
in the Cayman Islands.
A recent study conducted by Claria Corporation in August of 2005 found that
88 percent of consumers use the Internet to research and purchase their trips.
Reaching consumers at the beginning of the sales cycle greatly increases
businesses’ chances of acquiring new customers.
Having a website is the first step, but equally important is marketing that
site to potential customers. BestofCayman.com helps companies have a web
presence at the fraction of the cost of a website.
“BestofCayman.com is the perfect addition to the marketing mix, providing an
opportunity to increase awareness among future visitors to the Cayman Islands,”
explained Jeremy Olsson.
“Because the Internet is such a low-cost marketing solution, it can level the
playing field for smaller businesses.”
“BestofCayman.com will capitalize on the power of word-of-mouth advertising
through the incorporation of a rating and review system. Users can post and read
first-hand accounts of fellow traveler’ experiences.
“These candid but genuine reviews also serve as excellent feedback to
managers and owners,” explained Carrie Layne.
A release from the company claims that, with over 20 years combined
experience in Internet marketing, the Best of Cayman management team has the
knowledge base and skills to effectively reach the rapidly growing online
population.
“By listing with BestofCayman.com, you are essentially letting us handle your
Internet marketing efforts for you,” says Carrie Layne.
“It is important to understand that tourists unfamiliar with the Cayman
Islands need an easy way to find the information they are in search of.”
The site is divided into Categories including: Restaurants, Bars and
Nightlife, Hotels and Resorts, Spa and Beauty, and Things to Do, with additional
categories coming in the near future.
Each category is then further broken down into easy to understand sub
categories so that you can target the customers looking for you.
Some categories include, Best Sushi, Best Place to Watch the Sunset, Best
Gifts and Souvenirs, Best Fine Dining, Best Real Estate, Best Duty Free, Best
Condos, Best Happy Hour, Best Beach Bar, and Best Dive Packages.
With an aggressive online marketing campaign launching November 2005,
BestofCayman.com will be targeting travelers using the Internet to find
information about the Cayman Islands.
BestofCayman.com has also partnered with Cayman Airways. Two free airline
tickets will be given away to one lucky winner that subscribes to the monthly
newsletter on BestofCayman.com from 15 November to 1
January 2006. To win, users just need to enter their email address at
www.BestofCayman.com.
“Search engines are the gateway to the online world. Travelers unfamiliar
with the Cayman Islands turn to search engines as a starting point for their
information gathering.
“This is why BestofCayman.com has partnered with Google, Yahoo, and several
other top search engines to bring more web traffic for the Cayman Islands’
tourism market,” says Carrie Layne.
