LETTER TO THE EDITOR
So let them mock our Caymanian way of life
Tuesday, November 22, 2005
Dear Sir,
Tell me, which is better, to stick to and uphold our long standing ideals
of right and wrong, and hopefully at the same time save the life of someone
that might otherwise be drinking and carousing then driving drunk or should we
bow to the endless greed of the bar room and night club owners, and lower our
standards?
If people want to celebrate Christmas and New Year with parties, they
should do it privately, in homes, and make sure not to break the laws while
doing so. Many a family is grieving the loss of a loved one who was needlessly
snatched from this earth in their youth.
Why would we want to allow the foreigners who come to our land, to change
our way of life just so they can have what they call a good time? I personally
think the Cabinet members and our Government representatives have made a
gallant decision in standing up in the face of the criticism, and saying to
the world “we will not change our traditions and religious way of life”.
