Caymanopoly game board

Monopoly has been around since the 1930s and from the standard US editions, the famous board game has been adapted to fit more than sixty countries and the Cayman Islands, can now also boast being on that list.
The very first Caymanopoly appeared fifteen years ago but things have changed and Ravi Kapoor, President of Junior Achievement in the Cayman Islands, (JA) felt it was time for a re-launch.
A member of Rotary Central, he set about selling the new slots on the board’s frame work to create a unique edition that could also raise money for JA. With 52 spaces sold the cost of production has been recovered and Mr Kapoor hopes that the games will be as popular as the desire of local companies to get their name on the board.
“We literally had some of the law firms here scrambling to get those corner slots,” said Mr Kapoor. “It really was great to see how enthusiastic everyone was to support the game.”
The re-vamped Cayman version of the board game will be available very soon but Mr Kapoor is already taking orders from people who want to make sure they get their hands on one before they are sold out in the Christmas shopping stampede.
The board costs $30:00 and the proceeds will go towards developing the JA programme which helps young Caymanians develop business know-how through the development and formation of real companies.
