Badminton Open to serve up hot action

The Cayman Islands Badminton Association is hosting a Badminton Open competition from 28 November to 2 December at Cayman Prep School’s Gym on Walker’s Road.

The competition will start at 7:00 pm every evening for the duration of the competition. The tournament, which is sponsored by Castaways Grille, features men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

The singles games will be played on 28 and 29 November, with men playing to 15, and women to 11. Doubles games are scheduled for 30 November and 1 December and will be played to 15, with a rotation of players, so that all participants play each other as partners.

Mixed doubles matches will also be played on a rotation basis and competition in this category takes place on 1 and 2 December. Play will start at 7:00 pm, and is expected to run until 10:30 pm.
