Passa Passa Catcha Fyah was wild wild wild

Wednesday,  November  30, 2005

A spin off from Passa Passa – one of the biggest street dances in Jamaica, Passa Passa Catcha Fyah, which was hosted at Welly’s Cool Spot on Friday 25 November, was hot, wild and sexy.

The car park at Welly’s was capacity full with hardly any room for dancing. However, the patrons made use of any available space they could find to show off their skill in doing the latest dance moves coming out of Jamaica.

Guest selectors at Passa Passa Catcha Fyah, Foota Hype and Smurf with the latter opening the dance were instrumental in making the dance a success.

Smurf, who came on first, built up the crowd’s mood by playing many of the recent and not so recent songs from out of Jamaica.

However, the party did not begin to swing until Foota Hype took the controls. That was when women clad in red green, gold knitted skimpy outfits, and men in their ‘bling’ treaded the dance floor.

One of the major sponsors, Cayman Jam, had a fashion show at the dance, where Dancehall Queen Latesha Brown was present along with dancer Black Bling. The fashion show featured a mix of casual and party wear along with beachwear.

After the fashion show, Dancehall Queen Latesha took the stage and showed the patrons why she was crowned dancehall queen.

Black Bling also took the stage where he introduced several latest dance moves that are making waves in Jamaica.
