Dance Cayman to Jazz it up

Friday,  December 2, 2005

A talented group of young dancers, Dance Cayman is one the local performers slated to rock the stage on the final night of this year’s Jazz Fest.

The three-night event jazzed off on Thursday 1 December at the Westin Casuarina Resort and climaxes on Saturday at the Tree House, which will host the second night.

The talented group of young dancers will perform side by side on Saturday afternoon with international artists Arturo Tappin, Ravi Coltrane and Yolanda Adams.

Dance Cayman comprises dancers from the popular Young-at-Arts programme run by the Cayman National Cultural Foundation and other dance groups in Cayman.

The group was put together in January in response to a successful audition and acceptance to the Aberdeen International Youth Festival 2005.

The dancers have been working with local and overseas choreographers on ten new dances of various styles and cultures.

Local acts Sea N’ B, Notch, Pandemonium Steel Band, Swanky and Unlimited will also form part of the line-up on Saturday.
