Parcel Post Collection
The Postal Services are advising all persons to please collect parcels once notified by the post office, especially at this time of year, and due to limited amount of space.

George Town Primary School
George Town Primary School is inviting parents to bring a plant, a pair of gloves and lots of energy on Saturday morning 10 December at 8:00 am to “Put Some Green Back into the School Yard”.

Crisis Centre’s Walk/Run
The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre will hold the Fourth Annual Jingle Bell Walk/Run on Saturday 10 December at Kings Sports Centre Parking Lot from 6:00 am with the 3K and 5K walk starting at 6:40 am. First 300 people to register will receive a free t-shirt. Call 949-0366 for more information.

Cayman National Choir
Cayman National Choir presents “Simply Christmas” on Monday 12 December and Tuesday 13 December at 7:30 pm at Elmslie Memorial Church (on the Waterfront, George Town).

General Registry Offices
All offices of The General Registry Department will be closed to the public at 1:00 pm on Wednesday 14 December for their annual staff Christmas Party. The Department will resume normal hours of business from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday 15 December. The Department apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Calvary Baptist Church
Dr Ken Love has resumed his duties as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, 191 Walkers Road, on 27 November. Pastor Love and his wife June are from North Bergen, New Jersey, USA, where he was pastor of an international Baptist church.  All are invited to visit. Phone contact: 945-6602.

North Side Community’s Annual Christmas Party
All North Side residents are invited to the North Side Community Team’s Annual Christmas Dinner Party on Saturday 17 December at 5:00 pm at the Craddock Ebanks Civic Center. Santa will also make a special appearance.

Ladies’ Club’s Coffee Morning
The International Ladies’ Club will hold a Coffee Morning at 9:30 am on Thursday 8 December, at Celebrations. New members are welcome. For further information, contact Jan Archbold on 943-6556.

St George’s Anglican Church
The Rev. Dr. Michael Clarke of Barbados and the BVI leads in Advent Reflections at St. George’s Anglican Church, which began 5 December at 7:00 pm concludes on Thursday 8 December.  All are welcome.

Red Cross Session for Youth
The Red Cross will be having a session for the youth entitled “Let’s Talk About Sex and HIV: Informational Session for Youth 15-17 years old” on Thursday 8 December from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Red Cross Building, second floor. Call 916-1742 to sign up or for more information.

“Surfacing” - Art Exhibition
New paintings by April Bending will be displayed at the Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa from Thursday 8 December with wine generously donated by Jacques Scott.

Lighthouse School Christmas Party
The annual Lighthouse School Christmas Party will take place on Thursday 8 December at the South Sound Community Park from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, where Santa will drop by to deliver gifts to all the kids.

The Counselling Centre’s Open House
The Counselling Centre will be having an Open House on Friday 9 December between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm at their office in the West Wind Building, North Church Street. The public is invited to attend.

Mrs Tweetsie Kelly’s Annual Christmas Party

Car Wash at NS Primary School
North Side Primary School PTA will hold a car wash on Saturday 10 December at the school from 7:00 am until 2:00 pm. Funds raised will go to purchase much needed playground equipment for the school.

Road Closure
The RCIPS is advising the public that Albert Panton Street will be closed to the public on Saturday 10 December to facilitate the launching of the National Parenting Program. The road closure will be in effect between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm. Drivers are advised to use an alternative route or avoid the area if possible.

Rose Eva Sculpture Workshop
The National Gallery presents the “Rose Eva Sculpture Workshop” on Friday 9 December from 6:00-9:00 pm; Saturday 10 December and Sunday 11 December from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Pink Ladies Christmas Stall
The Pink Ladies will have a variety stall for Christmas gifts outside the NCVO “New to You” Bargain Shop on Walkers Road on Saturday 10 December from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

Cayman Outreach Association (COA) Dinner

Prospect Primary School PTA
The Prospect Primary School PTA will host its 1st Annual 5k Fun Run/Walk on Saturday 10 December. Participants will walk from Smiths Cove to the South Sound Dock. First Assembly Choir Presentation
First Assembly of God Church will be having a Choir Presentation and Children’s Program on Sunday 11 December at 6:00 pm. Free of charge.  All are invited.

The Church of God Chapel in West Bay invites everyone to “Christmas Around the World” on Sunday 11 December at 10:30 am featuring a Drama Team from the Logos II Mission Ship, a procession of flags, and participation by people from various countries.

Christmas Concert & Tea at St Ignatius
St Ignatius Catholic School (Years 7-13) will be presenting their annual Christmas Concert and Afternoon Tea on Sunday 11 December at their Arts Centre beginning at 3:00 pm. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and are available at the School Office or band/choir members. Proceeds will go to the Music Department and the Graduating Class.

Angels Foundation’s Christmas Candle Light
The Compassionate Friends Worldwide annual Candle Lighting will take place on Sunday 11 December in Grand Cayman at the Governor’s Beach and at Heritage House on Cayman Brac. Starting time: 6:30 pm. A Remembrance Book will be available Sunday 11 December on the website www.compassionatefriends.com  for all who wish to leave a message in memory of their loved ones. Cayman Outreach Association (COA) School of Prayer

Vehicle Licensing West Bay Hours
The Department of Vehicle Licensing’s West Bay office has new office hours. They will be closed on Mondays, and opened Tuesdays through Fridays: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. For further information call 945-8344 or 945-8355.

Humane Society volunteers needed
The Cayman Islands Humane Society is looking for volunteers for dog walking and for hands to help in the Book Loft. Dog walkers are really important to the dogs at the shelter, so the Society is asking for help. Please call at 949-1461 or visit on North Sound Road.

National Gallery Christmas Stock
Christmas stock is now available at the National Gallery’s gift shop filled with wonderful unusual gifts and toy ideas for the holidays. The National Gallery encourages everyone to support the arts and get their shopping done too.

ICTA Information on locking of mobile handsets
The Information & Communications Technology Authority (ICTA) is asking the public for their comments on whether mobile handsets should be locked by service providers. Copies of the posted consultation document may be obtained at www.icta.ky  or by calling the ICTA offices at 946-4282.

National Gallery Exhibition Dancing
The National Gallery continues their Exhibition Dancing to Art – The Art of Al Ebanks interpreted by the dances of Susan Barnes Pereira, Lorna Reid, Patrice Donalds and Roger Thompson – through mid-January on Fridays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Free admission.

Lobster Season Reminder
The Department of Environment is advising the public of the regulations for the coming lobster season, which opened 1 December and ends 28 February 2006.  For information on the regulations, contact the DOE at 949-8469.
