LETTER TO THE EDITOR
It is not the fault of the insurance company
Monday, December 12, 2005
Dear Sir,
I can understand that not all members want to be involved in the litigation
process, that is everyone’s right to just move on.
What I would like to say to Ms. Cole and others that may
read this is that it is not the fault of the insurance company, as Mr. Foster
had stated in the past. The Indies Suites insurance coverage was decreased
intentionally by Mr. Foster, and or the directors, Alberga and Myers. If the
Indies would have been insured for the value it had been, we wouldn’t be in
this mess right now.
Can I ask this simple question? Why would anyone lower
insurance on a property? Property continues to go up in value! This was a
decision made to save money and they were taking a big risk by doing this.
All members received a letter from Mr. Foster stating our
membership dues would be increasing because of the increase in insurance
premiums. So under our contract with him, we are to pay this, and did. Less
then 6 months later, he lowered his coverage. This is a breach of contract
with us.
Hurricane Ivan or another act of God, these are things
that happen without knowing and in fact is very devastating to the island, Mr.
Foster and the tourism industry. Mr. Foster knew of what he was doing.
Melissa West.
