FOURTEEN months after Hurricane Ivan knocked it out of
business, Caribbean Producers Services (CPS) is back in operation in Grand
Cayman with its sound, digital and video production.
President and Chief Executive Officer of the CPS, Ronald
Kipp, said growth in the Island’s tourism industry spurred the business back
into action.
“Realising where we are and the growth being presented by
the Director of Tourism and the Minister of Tourism, we feel it is an
opportune time once again,” he said.
The CPS leader said the recommencement of operation comes
at a time when things are picking up in the tourism industry.
“Things will pick up big and will go strong until January
and then pick up again in the winter with March being the biggest month for
stay-over tourism in the Cayman Islands.
Mr Kipp said a CI$100,000 capital injection breathed life
into the company, leading to the hiring of two full-time and one part-time
staff.
With expectation of growth in the local tourism sector,
CPS is offering full-time and part-time employment to Caymanians.
“One of our strategies is to look for full-time or
part-time Caymanians because there are a lot who would like to supplement
their income, “ he said.
Mr Kipp, who is the major stockholder in the company,
said training would be offered to nationals wanting a career in video and
digital production.
The CPS will be expanding to handle all digital and video
photography for diving, snorkelling and charter groups in support of Red Sail
Sports at the Hyatt Regency, Marriott Beach Resort, Westin Casuarina Resort
and Spa, Courtyard Marriott and the Morritt’s Tortuga Club.
The company, which is headquartered at the Hyatt Beach
Suites, will execute all Red Sail Sports’ activities on the west and north
sides of the Island, including Rum Point and Tortuga Club.
