LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Public behaviour laws will be broken
Tuesday, January 31, 2006
Dear Sir,
I am writing in concern to the issue of the Gay Cruise arriving on 31 January. First of all, I would like to state that I do not agree with this at all. I am glad that it was banned in 1998, but I would like to know, who had the idea of allowing them to return to Cayman?
In the article in Thursday’s paper, a spokesperson for the government said, “All law-abiding visitors are welcome and will be treated in the same manner despite sex, race, religion and culture.”
This may be so, but if there are any laws concerning public behaviour, these will most definitely be broken by many of the people that come off that boat.
I have seen homosexuals carry on worse in public than any heterosexual person I have ever seen. I remember when I reluctantly went to an Elton John concert, not long ago actually. I went with my mother, my aunt and my brother. Anyways, I saw some disturbing things there, which I hope to NEVER see again. I will not go into any graphic detail about what I saw, but I can tell you that what I did see was a group of Homosexuals in the front row, carrying on very badly, bumping and wining on each other. I don’t think I should say anymore (that is probably more than enough information right there).
I had hoped that I would not see something like that again, but I am afraid, however, that I will see it again, along with everyone in George Town and anyone passing through the Waterfront.
Also, I agree with the churches apposing this. God made sex as a privilege, not a right. And that privilege should not be abused. When people, like homosexuals, abuse this privilege they are disobeying God.
And when they are going on in the manner, which I briefly described earlier, they are deliberately disregarding the word of God. Therefore, homosexuality is a sin, not a culture.
If people want to be gay, that is fine with me, it’s not my problem. But they do not have to display their sexuality to the world, that’s when it is a problem. Like I said before, I see very few heterosexuals behaving the way I see many homosexuals do.
